In Greek mythology, Pisces is associated with Aphrodite and her son Eros, who transformed into fish to escape the monster Typhon. When Typhon attacked Mount Olympus, the gods fled in various animal forms. Aphrodite and Eros jumped into the Euphrates River and became two fish, tying themselves together with a cord so they wouldn't lose each other in the current. Zeus placed them among the stars as the constellation Pisces — two fish connected by a ribbon.
